The gay porn community lost one of its last true “stars” early this morning with the passing of Erik Rhodes. He died in his sleep from a heart attack, reportedly, at home in New York around 5:30 a.m. at age of 30.
Rhodes, a native of Long Island, N.Y., was born on Feb. 8, 1982. He signed an exclusive deal with Falcon at age 22. During his eight-year career, he acted in dozens of adult films and directed movies for Mustang Studios.
I saw that coming. He sounded really depressed everywhere he posted a message, and like a really empty and lonely soul. His tumblr music was so cool but not his vision of life. I’m sorry to hear this. We must raise our conciousness, life is not simple, is a battle of the EGO vs. the SOUL.

After reading his blog and seeing his tweets, about all the pills he took to sleep and get through the day and all the steroids he was taking, I assessed from that alone as being the cause of his heart attack. And now that more info is getting out, it seems that the officials and those in the know are attributing the heart attack to the use of steroids. Apparently Erik was very depressed and distressed and unhappy with his life. He even stated in a blog post at age 27 that he figured he’d be done for by 30, if he even made it to 30. He apparently didn’t want to live…… and he got his wish. So sad. Why didn’t anyone reach out to him and help him get the help he needed? Was he adamantly against anyone helping him? Was he beyond help? So very sad indeed. Rest his soul.

A RIP message is always sentimental but I wonder why WLN posts pictures of him naked. Sure, he was cute and muscular. But a more subtle and appropriate way would be to post pictures of him non-naked and with clothes on. Just saying. Still, RIP Erik.
